Hot on the tail of the Austin premiere of the twisted black comedy ALL ABOUT EVIL, MINK STOLE and PEACHES CHRIST will be attendance for a special screening of the John Waters’ clas-sick PINK FLAMINGOS, where again MINK will enlighten us all about what is arguably the most disturbing movie you’ve ever laughed along with. And just when you thought you know all about Waters and the Dreamlanders… MINK and PEACHES will be there to also provide a truly debased pre-show, with Austin’s very own ‘filth idol’ CHRISTEENE VALE in attendance to lend a had to the assuredly shocking proceedings.
“Kill everyone now! Condone first-degree murder! Advocate Cannibalism! Eat Shit! Filth is my politics! Filth is my life!”
A very wise and spiritual man once said the following words: “Some seek pleasure in pain, and some cannot cleanse themselves except with filth.” At Pink Flamingos you’ll be experiencing a film that pretty much uses these words as its credo. God knows there’s been many a film made before and since Pink Flamingos that could be described as disgusting, filthy, perverted, immoral, amoral, criminal, etc., but somehow they just don’t measure up to PF when all is said and done. Political Correctness has done much to damage the prospect of a film like PF ever being made again, and maybe this is for the best, for do we really need more films like this? No.
But do we really want to watch this movie every so often with others? Absolutely.
No one is spared the scarring venom of Waters’ flamingo quill in this particular opus of his (for he has many). Not transsexuals, the mentally ill, the Tate and LaBianca family; not animal activists, gays, lesbians, heterosexuals; not even transvestites or cab drivers.
However, if you’re a murderer, a shit-eater, an arsonist, a baby peddler, a rapist, abuse old people, or partake in any other gamut of criminal activity, consider your life choices validated by this film!
